About CTET

CTET is the national teacher eligibility test that CBSE conducts for the Central Government, following NCTE norms. It certifies who is eligible to teach Classes I-VIII in central government schools such as Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas, and in CBSE-affiliated schools. Paper I is for teaching Classes I-V and Paper II for Classes VI-VIII, and the qualifying certificate is now valid for life.

Eligibility (summary)

Minimum qualifications as notified by NCTE for the relevant teaching level; a score of 60% or above counts as a pass, and the certificate is valid for life Read the latest notification for exact age limits, relaxations and qualifications.
