How it works

Search your exam, pick a year and stage, then preview or download the paper. Here’s what happens behind each button.

1. Find your exam

Search by exam name or short form (for example “UPSC CSE”, “GATE CS” or “RAS”), or browse by category. Each exam page lists every paper we have, grouped by year and stage.

2. Where papers come from

We only list papers we can trace to an official source, such as the exam conducting body’s website. Before a paper is published we check that:

  • the link is a real PDF file (we check the file itself, not just the link text);
  • the exam, year, stage and language match what the official page says;
  • the source’s copyright or website policy is recorded.

Every paper page shows its source, the date we retrieved it and whether the file is hosted by us or linked.

3. Paper labels

  • Official Paper: the question paper as released by the exam body.
  • Answer Key: an official answer key. We only link a key to a paper when the match is exact.
  • Memory-based: reconstructed by candidates after the exam. We label these clearly and never present them as official.
  • Solution: worked solutions from a named third party.

4. Hosted copies vs official links

Being publicly available isn’t the same as being free to republish. Where a source’s policy allows reproduction with attribution, we keep a copy so you get a fast download and an in-page preview. Where it doesn’t, or where permission is unclear, Download Free PDF opens the original file on the official website instead. Either way, the download is free and needs no sign-up.

5. Saving papers

The Save button stores the paper in your browser only. No account is needed. You can find saved papers under Saved.

6. Install as an app

PYQSathi is a progressive web app. In Chrome on Android, open the menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen. In Safari on iPhone, tap Share and then Add to Home Screen. Large PDFs aren’t stored offline automatically, so they won’t fill up your phone’s storage.

7. Something wrong?

Use Report a problem on any paper page, or contact us. Rights holders can see our copyright and takedown policy.
