About UPSSSC PET
The Preliminary Eligibility Test is the first tier of the two-tier selection system that the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission uses for Group 'C' direct-recruitment posts. Candidates need a valid PET score to apply for the commission's post-wise main examinations, and shortlisting for each main examination is made on the normalised PET score. Under Advt. No. 16-Exam/2026 the score stays valid for three years from the result, and the PET-2026 written test is scheduled for 25 and 30 October and 1 November 2026 in two shifts a day.
Eligibility (summary)
Under Advt. No. 16-Exam/2026 (PET-2026), candidates must have passed High School (Class 10) or an equivalent examination by the closing date and be 18 to 40 years old on 1 July 2026, with upper-age relaxation for reserved and special categories as per Uttar Pradesh government orders.
