About HPPSC HAS

The Himachal Pradesh Administrative Service Combined Competitive Examination is conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission for recruitment to the HP Administrative Service and allied state services. Under the HP Administrative Service Rules as amended in 2016, an objective Preliminary Examination of General Studies and an Aptitude Test screens candidates for a written Main Examination of six compulsory papers and one optional subject, followed by an interview or personality test.

Preliminary ExaminationTwo objective (multiple choice) papers carrying a maximum of 400 marks: General Studies (Paper-I) and Aptitude Test (Paper-II), each 200 marks with 100 questions and two hours. Paper-II is qualifying with minimum 33%; merit for admission to the Main Examination is drawn on Paper-I only. Main ExaminationCompulsory papers: I English 100, II Hindi 100, III Essay 100, IV-VI General Studies I-III 200 each; Optional subject Paper-I and Paper-II 100 each. All papers three hours.
