About XAT

XAT is the management admission test that XLRI – Xavier School of Management conducts on behalf of the Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI); the XAT 2026 bulletin says its score is recognised by over 250 institutes. It is a 3-hour computer-based test with an aptitude part (verbal ability and logical reasoning, decision making, quantitative aptitude and data interpretation) and a general knowledge part used only by XLRI. XAT 2027 is scheduled for Sunday, 3 January 2027, from 2 pm to 5 pm.

Eligibility (summary)

A recognised Bachelor's degree of at least three years' duration, or equivalent, in any discipline; candidates appearing for their final exams by 11 June 2027 may also apply (XAT 2027 FAQs). Read the latest notification for exact age limits, relaxations and qualifications.

XAT computer-based testAbout 95 questions in 180 minutes, 1 mark each: Part 1 aptitude test of 170 minutes with Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning (about 26 questions), Decision Making (about 21) and Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation (about 28); Part 2 General Knowledge of 10 minutes (about 20 questions, 8 static GK and 12 current affairs).
