About IBPS SO

IBPS holds this common recruitment process once a year to fill Scale I specialist posts in the participating public sector banks: IT Officer, Agricultural Field Officer, Rajbhasha Adhikari, Law Officer, HR/Personnel Officer and Marketing Officer. Candidates apply for one post, sit an online preliminary and an online main examination, and those shortlisted on main exam marks attend a common interview before provisional allotment to a bank. CRP SPL-XVI, with registration from 1 to 21 July 2026, covers vacancies of 2027-28.

Eligibility (summary)

CRP SPL-XVI: age 20 to 30 years as on 01.07.2026, with category relaxations (e.g. SC/ST 5 years, OBC non-creamy layer 3 years). Each post needs its own qualification as on 21.07.2026, e.g. a four-year engineering/technology degree in a computer or electronics discipline for IT Officer, or an LL.B with Bar Council enrolment for Law Officer.     Four separately timed objective tests including Professional Knowledge; candidates must qualify in each to be shortlisted for the main exam

    Objective tests followed by a descriptive paper; all tests except Professional Knowledge are qualifying

    Interview of 100 marks conducted by the participating banks and coordinated by the nodal bank

Online Main ExaminationObjective part: 150 questions, 200 marks, 125 minutes. IT Officer, Agricultural Field Officer, HR/Personnel Officer and Marketing Officer: English Language (30 Q, 30 marks, 25 min), Reasoning (40 Q, 40 marks, 35 min), Quantitative Aptitude (30 Q, 30 marks, 25 min), Professional Knowledge (50 Q, 100 marks, 40 min). Law Officer and Rajbhasha Adhikari: General Awareness with Special Reference to Banking Industry (30 Q, 30 marks, 20 min) in place of Quantitative Aptitude, and Professional Knowledge of 45 min. Then a descriptive paper of 2 questions, 25 marks, 30 minutes (English; Professional Knowledge in English and Hindi for Rajbhasha Adhikari). Total 225 marks, 155 minutes.
