About GIC Re Assistant Manager

GIC Re, India's state-owned reinsurer, recruits Assistant Managers (Scale I officers) in general and specialist streams such as legal, HR, engineering, IT, actuarial, insurance and finance through an online examination, a group discussion and an interview, followed by a medical examination; doctors are selected by two interviews without a written test. The 2024 advertisement (Ref. GIC-HO/HR/Recruit_Scale1/874/2024-25, dated 4 December 2024) offered 110 posts, with the online examination held on 5 January 2025.

2024 advertisement: age 21 to 30 years as on 01-11-2024 (born 02-11-1994 to 01-11-2003, with relaxations); General stream requires graduation in any discipline with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST), specialist streams need discipline-specific degrees. Part A (objective, 30 min): Higher Order Reasoning Ability/Critical Thinking for the General stream, or a Technical and Professional Knowledge test for specialists (40 Q, 40 marks). Part B (objective, 60 min): Reasoning (20 Q, 20 marks), English Language with emphasis on grammar and vocabulary (25 Q, 25 marks), General Awareness (20 Q, 20 marks), Numerical Ability & Computer Literacy (15 Q, 15 marks).
