The High Court of Madhya Pradesh recruits Civil Judges, Junior Division (Entry Level), earlier called Civil Judge Class-II, to the Madhya Pradesh Judicial Service. Candidates take an online objective preliminary examination, a main written examination of four descriptive papers and an interview. For the 2022 examination (advertisement No. 113/Exam/CJ/2022 dated 17.11.2023) the preliminary was held on 14.01.2024, and the final select list of 12.11.2025 ranked candidates on written plus interview marks out of 450 against 60 vacancies of the year and 131 carried-forward posts.

| Online Preliminary Examination | The 2022 online paper had 150 objective questions printed in English and Hindi: Law 120 (Q.1-120), General Knowledge 10 (Q.121-130) and Computer Knowledge and English Knowledge 20 (Q.131-150).
