About FCI AG-III (Category III)

FCI recruits non-executive Category III staff, including Assistant Grade III (General, Accounts, Technical, Depot and Hindi), Junior Engineers and Steno Grade-II, zone by zone through a common online test. The latest cycle, Advt. No. 01/2022-FCI Category III dated 03.09.2022, used a common Phase I screening test and a post-specific Phase II online exam that decides merit; Steno Grade-II candidates also take a qualifying skill test. FCI was still verifying documents of waitlisted candidates from this cycle in 2026.

Eligibility (summary)

For Advt. No. 01/2022-FCI Category III: AG-III (General) and AG-III (Depot) need a graduate degree in any discipline with proficiency in computers, AG-III (Accounts) a B.Com and AG-III (Technical) a B.Sc. in agriculture or specified life-science subjects; maximum age 27 years for these posts (28 for AG-III Hindi) as on 01.08.2022, with relaxation for reserved categories. Negative marking of one fourth of the mark per wrong answer. Marks are not counted for the final merit; candidates about 15 times the vacancies are called for Phase II.Advt. Phase II Online TestPaper I (common to JE and all AG-III posts): 120 questions, 120 marks, 90 minutes: English Language 25, Reasoning Ability 25, Numerical Aptitude 25 and General Studies 45 (history, geography, economy 25; general science up to Class 10, 10; current affairs 5; computer awareness 5). Paper II (JE, AG-III Accounts, Technical and Hindi): 60 questions of 2 marks each, 120 marks, 60 minutes. Paper III (Steno Grade-II): 120 questions, 120 marks, 90 minutes on general English, general awareness, general intelligence and computer awareness.
