About ESIC UDC/Steno/MTS

ESIC fills Upper Division Clerk, Stenographer and Multi-Tasking Staff posts region by region through a common online recruitment; the most recent cycle found on esic.gov.in was advertised in regional notifications dated 27 December 2021, with applications closing on 15 February 2022. UDC and MTS candidates take a qualifying Phase I preliminary exam and a Phase II main exam that decides merit, and UDC candidates must also clear a qualifying computer skill test; Stenographers take a main exam followed by a stenography skill test.

Eligibility (summary)

For the 2022 cycle (applications closed 15.02.2022): UDC needs a degree and working knowledge of computers, Stenographer needs Class 12 and MTS needs matriculation; age 18 to 27 years for UDC and Stenographer and 18 to 25 years for MTS, with relaxation for reserved categories. Skill TestUDC Phase III computer skill test, qualifying, 50 marks in 30 minutes: two PowerPoint slides (10), typing matter in MS Word with formatting (20) and a table in MS Excel with formulae (20); UDC candidates shortlisted 1:5 from the main exam.
