About UCEED

UCEED is the design aptitude examination conducted by IIT Bombay for admission to the B.Des. programmes at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur. One three-hour English paper has a computer-based Part A of numerical, multiple-select and multiple-choice questions, and a Part B of drawing and design questions answered in a booklet. Qualified candidates then apply through a joint seat allocation process; UCEED 2027 is scheduled for 17 January 2027.

Eligibility (summary)

UCEED 2027: candidates born on or after 1 October 2002 (1 October 1997 for SC, ST and PwD) who appeared in Class XII for the first time in 2026 or 2027, from any stream; at most two attempts in consecutive years. Read the latest notification for exact age limits, relaxations and qualifications.

UCEED examination (Part A and Part B)One paper of 3 hours, 300 marks, English only. Part A (computer-based, 200 marks, 2 hours): 14 NAT questions of 4 marks with no negative marks; 15 MSQs with +4 full, +3/+2/+1 partial and -1 otherwise; 28 MCQs of 3 marks with -0.71 for a wrong answer.
