About SHRESHTA (NETS)

SHRESHTA (NETS) is the entrance test NTA conducts under the Government scheme that funds seats for meritorious Scheduled Caste students in selected private residential schools, with about 3,000 students expected to be selected each year for Class 9 and Class 11. It is open to SC students in Class 8 or Class 10 whose parental annual income is up to Rs 2.5 lakh. The 2026 test was held on 21 December 2025 as a three-hour objective paper in Hindi and English.
