About NCET

The National Common Entrance Test (NCET) is the computer-based test NTA conducts on behalf of the National Council for Teacher Education for admission to the four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) at selected central and state universities, IITs, NITs, RIEs and government colleges. Candidates take two languages, three domain subjects, a General Test and Teaching Aptitude, attempting 160 of 181 questions in 180 minutes. NCET 2026 was held on 17 and 18 April 2026.

Eligibility (summary)

NCET 2026: no age limit; candidates who have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination, or are appearing in 2026, may sit the test, subject to each institution's own conditions. Read the latest notification for exact age limits, relaxations and qualifications.
