Graduate Aptitude Test – Biotechnology (GAT-B) and Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET)
NTA conducts two biotechnology tests for the Department of Biotechnology, with the Regional Centre for Biotechnology as nodal agency: GAT-B for admission to DBT-supported postgraduate programmes such as M.Sc. and M.Tech. Biotechnology, and BET for DBT Junior Research Fellowships. Both are three-hour computer-based tests in English with two sections and negative marking. Both 2026 tests were held on 17 May 2026.
3-hour CBT: Section A 60 compulsory 10+2-level MCQs, Section B 60 of 100 graduate-level biotechnology MCQs
3-hour CBT: Section A 50 compulsory MCQs, Section B 50 of 150 specialised biotechnology MCQs
