Chennai Mathematical Institute Entrance Examination
Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI) admits students to its B.S. (Honours) programmes in Mathematics, Mathematics and Computer Science and Mathematics and Physics, and to its M.Sc./Ph.D. programmes in Mathematics, Computer Science and Data Science, through a written entrance examination held at centres across India. The 2026-27 examination was held on 2 May 2026, and CMI has announced the 2027-28 examination for 15 May 2027. Students with exceptional National Science Olympiad results may be exempted from the B.S. examination, and the M.Sc. Mathematics test is followed by an interview in Chennai.
