About CLAT UG

CLAT UG is the common entrance test for the five-year integrated law degree programmes at the National Law Universities that form the Consortium of National Law Universities, which conducts it. It is a single offline paper of 120 multiple-choice questions on English, current affairs, legal reasoning, logical reasoning and quantitative techniques, after which seats are allotted through the Consortium's counselling rounds. CLAT 2026 was held on 7 December 2025, and the Consortium has fixed CLAT 2027 for 6 December 2026.

Eligibility (summary)

CLAT 2027 (UG): no upper age limit; 10+2 or an equivalent examination with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/PwD candidates), and candidates appearing for the qualifying examination in March/April 2027 may also apply.
