About CAT

CAT is the computer-based test the IIMs use to shortlist candidates for their postgraduate and doctoral management programmes, and many other business schools also accept its scores. It tests verbal ability and reading comprehension, data interpretation and logical reasoning, and quantitative ability. CAT 2026 is scheduled for Sunday, 29 November 2026, in three sessions.

Eligibility (summary)

Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for SC, ST, PwBD), or a professional qualification such as CA/CS/CMA/FIAI; final-year students may apply (CAT 2026). Read the latest notification for exact age limits, relaxations and qualifications.
