About UPSC CBI DSP LDCE

UPSC holds this limited departmental examination to fill Deputy Superintendent of Police posts in the Central Bureau of Investigation from among departmental Sub-Inspectors and Inspectors of CBI. The 2023 examination was held in Delhi on 16 and 17 March 2024 for 23 tentative vacancies (UR-18, SC-03, ST-02). Candidates who qualify the three written papers take Physical Standard Tests conducted by CBI, then a 200-mark UPSC personality test.

Eligibility (summary)

Four years of regular service on 1 January 2023 as Sub-Inspector (Pay Level 7) or Inspector (Pay Level 8) in CBI with a clean record, graduation from a recognised university, and age below 40 years on 01.01.2023 (relaxable by up to five years for SC/ST), per the 2023 Rules.
