About JSSC CGL

The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission conducts the General Graduate Level Combined Competitive Examination (JGGLCCE) for graduate-level non-gazetted posts in Jharkhand government departments, such as assistant section officer, junior secretariat assistant, block supply officer and circle inspector-cum-kanungo. Under Advt. No. 10/2023 (regular) and 11/2023 (backlog) selection was by a single-stage OMR-based main examination of three objective papers, with the merit list drawn from Papers 2 and 3. That examination was held on 21 and 22 September 2024.

Eligibility (summary)

Under Advt. No. 10/2023 (JGGLCCE-2023), candidates need a bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognised university by the closing date and a minimum age of 21 on 01-08-2023; the maximum age, counted on the reference dates set in the advertisement, is 35 for unreserved/EWS candidates, 37 for BC-I/BC-II men, 38 for women of those categories and 40 for SC/ST candidates, with 10 more years for persons with disabilities. Main ExaminationThree objective papers of 2 hours each; every question carries 3 marks and 1 mark is deducted for each wrong answer. Paper 1 Language Knowledge: 120 questions (Hindi 60, English 60), qualifying with a 30% minimum and not counted in merit. Paper 2 Tribal and Regional Language: 100 questions in one chosen language, 30% minimum. Paper 3 General Knowledge: 150 questions (General Studies 30, General Science 20, General Mathematics 20, Mental Ability 20, Computer Knowledge 20, Jharkhand-related knowledge 40), 30% minimum.
