GPSC recruits engineers for Gujarat government departments, boards and corporations through the Gujarat Engineering Service (Civil) Class-1 and Class-2 examination and through post-wise advertisements for Assistant Engineers, Additional Assistant Engineers, Deputy Executive Engineers and Executive Engineers (GWSSB, GMB, municipal corporations and others). The Gujarat Engineering Service (Civil) examination has an objective preliminary stage and a descriptive main stage; the other posts usually have an objective test in the concerned branch followed by an interview.
