About UPSC CISF AC (Exe) LDCE

UPSC holds this limited departmental examination to fill Assistant Commandant (Executive) posts in the Central Industrial Security Force from among serving CISF Sub-Inspectors (GD) and Inspectors (GD); it is not open to outside candidates. Eligibility (summary)

For the 2026 examination: CISF Sub-Inspectors (GD)/Inspectors (GD) with four years of regular service on 1 January 2026 (including basic training) and a clean service record, holding a graduate degree, and under 35 years of age on 1 August 2026 (up to five years' relaxation for SC/ST); three attempts are allowed. Written ExaminationPaper I General Ability and Intelligence and Professional Skill: objective multiple-choice paper of 150 questions for 300 marks in 2½ hours, set in English and Hindi, in two parts: Part A General Ability and Intelligence (75 questions, 150 marks) and Part B Professional Skill (75 questions, 150 marks). Paper II Essay, Précis Writing and Comprehension: conventional, 100 marks, 2 hours; the essay may be written in English or Hindi, précis and comprehension in English only. Minimum qualifying marks are fixed separately in each paper. Physical Standards / Physical Efficiency TestMinimum height 165 cm for men (162.5 cm ST) and 157 cm for women (154 cm ST); chest 81 cm unexpanded with 5 cm expansion for men. Qualifying PET with no marks: 100 m in 16 s (men) / 18 s (women), 800 m in 3 min 45 s / 4 min 45 s, long jump 3.5 m / 3.0 m (3 chances), and shot put (7.26 kg) 4.5 m listed for men (3 chances). Interview/Personality TestInterview/Personality Test of 200 marks by a UPSC board for candidates found fit in the medical test; an NCC 'B' or 'C' certificate is considered at this stage as a desirable qualification.
