Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET)
The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test certifies candidates as eligible to be appointed as teachers of classes 1 to 5 and 6 to 8 in Uttar Pradesh. It is now conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission, Prayagraj; the 2026 cycle was advertised as Adv. No. 01/UPTET/2026 on 20 March 2026 and held on 2, 3 and 4 July 2026. Candidates sit the Primary Level paper, the Upper Primary Level paper or both. Passing gives eligibility only, not a right to recruitment.
