About KARTET

The Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) certifies candidates as eligible to teach Classes 1 to 5 (Paper 1) and Classes 6 to 8 (Paper 2) in Karnataka. It is conducted by the Central Admission Cell of the Commissionerate of School Education, Bengaluru. KARTET-2025 was notified on 18-10-2025 and held offline on 07-12-2025, Paper 1 in the morning and Paper 2 in the afternoon; results were published on sts.karnataka.gov.in/TET and the eligibility certificate is valid for life.

Eligibility (summary)

Per the KARTET-2025 notification, Paper 1 needs PUC/Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks plus a two-year D.El.Ed (or four-year B.El.Ed or two-year special-education diploma), or graduation with 50% and D.El.Ed/B.Ed, including candidates in the final year; Paper 2 needs graduation with at least 50% marks plus a two-year D.El.Ed or B.Ed, or equivalent routes listed in the notification.
