IIT JAM 2026 — JAM computer-based test

7 JAM computer-based test papers from the 2026 IIT JAM examination, conducted by Indian Institutes of Technology (organising institute for JAM 2027: IIT Kharagpur). JAM computer-based test: One 3-hour computer-based test per test paper; a candidate may take one or two of the seven test papers if they fall in different sessions.

JAM computer-based test pattern

60 questions, 100 marks, 3 hours, in three compulsory sections: Section A 30 MCQs (Q.1-10 one mark, Q.11-30 two marks), Section B 10 MSQs of two marks, Section C 20 numerical answer type questions (Q.41-50 one mark, Q.51-60 two marks); a wrong MCQ costs 1/3 mark (1-mark question) or 2/3 mark (2-mark question); no negative or partial marking for MSQ and no negative marking for NAT; virtual calculator provided (JAM 2027 Information Brochure (IIT Kharagpur)) Official source
